Have you ever been tempted to go for a Jackpot but you were worried about how unlikely it is and how much you would spend chasing it? Well, for Dice, Balls and Roulette your concerns are right, but there is one particular Jackpot that is much better to hunt than the rest - the Cells Jackpot.
There are 2 main things to know about the Cells Jackpot which make it unique and wonderful. The first is that you only need to match the last 5 digits of the result number with the last digits of the Bet ID, which instantly bumps the chance of hitting it randomly from 1 in a million to 1 in 100,000.
The second thing, and this is the part which makes the Cells Jackpot much easier to hunt, is that there is only one result number for an entire Cells round. This means that if you're betting on the same board with the same coin and bet amount, the result number stays the same for each bet.
This gives you a huge advantage which you don't get on other games; you can time the bet ID with the result number. While you can never be exactly precise, being able to control when your bet ID is close to the number massively improves your chances of hitting the exact ID needed. If you're playing with a good connection and little lag, you can almost always get at least one bet ID within 500 of the ID needed each time the ID crosses the result number.
This changes the luck factor from 1 in 100,000, to just 1 in 500. Sometimes bets are even closer together and the odds can reach 1 in 200! This also depends on how fast you can click and open cells.
This is an improvement of between 200x to 500x the chance of hitting the Jackpot compared to playing Cells randomly, and an improvement of 2,000x to 5,000x the chance compared to playing for Dice, Balls or Roulette Jackpot!
How to hunt the Jackpot?
As mentioned before, the key to getting the Jackpot is timing your bet IDs as closely as possible. Therefore, before you start hunting, you will need to make a single bet on the board you will be hunting on, open the bet you made, and check the last 5 digits of the result number.
Make a note of this number, as this is the one you'll need to time you bet IDs with. Next, you will need a way to keep track of the bet ID numbers. For this, open an instance of Dice in a new window (not tab), shrink the window so it fits inside the Cells board on the game underneath, and scroll the window down to the bets list. Make sure it is set to "All bets", so you get a live counter of the bet ID. You can also use the "XX,XXX,XXX,XXX bets made" ticker near the top of the page so you don't have to open a new window, but this updates less frequently than the Dice bets ticker, so your accuracy with timing might become worse.
Watch the bet ID ticker until the last 5 digits are getting close to your result number. This happens every 100,000 bets, or roughly every 50 - 60 seconds.
When the ticker is about to cross your result number, you will need to start opening cells as fast as you can (usually just spam clicking across a row is the best way). The faster you can do it the better your chances of matching the ID, but you will not need to open many, usually only 6 or 7, as the ID matching your result number will probably have passed by then. Just make sure you time it right, so you don't bet too early or late and miss the crossing point. It does not matter which cells you open as individual bet profit isn't what you're trying to achieve; you might get some bad streaks with rows of empty cells, but if it means you can open them faster then it will benefit you in the long run. If you want you can check your bets afterwards to see how close you were, but this isn't necessary; if you get it exactly right you will get a notification saying you won. It can also be frustrating and sometimes discouraging if you check the bets and see an ID was only 1 or 2 off (I have had countless times when the ID has been one off, it feels really bad).
This particular bet was only 333 away from the result number. Sometimes you will get a bet that's closer, and sometimes your closest bet will be further away than this, but as mentioned before, it's usually within 500 of the matching number. After this you can open the bet ticker window back up (it minimizes automatically when you start opening cells on the page underneath), and wait for the next time the bet ticker approaches the matching number. Try not to open any more cells in this time, even if you had a bad streak of empty cells. You want to make as few bets as possible, as the house edge will slowly eat away at your balance the more bets you make.
And that's all there is to it. Now you just need to keep doing this every time the bet ticker crosses the ID matching your result number. At first it might seem a bit difficult to get to grips with, but once you get the hang of it and remember the steps, you can get into a rhythm and take advantage of every chance to hit the ID. From there you will just need to grind it, you can take breaks if you need to but betting at every ID/result number crossing means more chances to win. Remember to make a new bet and check the result number at the start of each new round, as this is when the result number changes.
If you want to make things go twice as fast, you can hunt the Jackpot with 2 different coins! Just split your balance equally between the 2 coins you'll hunt with (Bitcoin and Siacoin are good options at the moment), make sure both boards are set to the minimum Jackpot bet amount, and hunt the respective matching IDs for each of them; since they're different coins, they will have different result numbers. Be sure to write the 5 digits you need down for each coin and write the coin, otherwise you might get confused with what number you're matching for each coin.
And that's it! While your chances of winning have massively improved, luck is still a factor. Sometimes you will hit the Jackpot very quickly after starting, and sometimes you can spend days hunting with no luck. You just have to keep grinding, and eventually you'll get that ever so satisfying ka-ching sound!
Here is some extra information and tips:
-It's not really worth hunting the Jackpot until it reaches 0.01 BTC, in general but also especially considering how low Bitcoin's value currently is.
-Since you get roughly one chance every minute and on average it takes 300 - 500 chances to match the numbers, You're looking at between 5 - 9 hours of continuous hunting. This isn't guaranteed though - my most recent Jackpot only took me 1.5 hours hunting with two different coins!
-If you only open cells when needed, then it's possible to hunt a Jackpot with as little as 50,000 satoshi. Since I hunt with two coins I start with a balance of 100k sats for good measure. If you bust one balance you can get some more and carry on, but make sure the amount you've spent is less than the Jackpot amount.
-Hunting the Jackpot with 2 coins only halves the amount of physical time it takes to win. It doesn't halve the amount of bets you have to make, and it doesn't halve the amount you may lose during the hunt.
-If you're hunting with 2 different coins then sometimes the result numbers for each board will be too close. You won't have time to bet on one board, switch to a different coin, then bet on that board before that matching ID comes. In this case, you will just have to bet on one board for a while until a new round starts, until the result numbers for each coin are far enough apart.
-It may be possible to hunt with 3 different coins, and thus you'll be hunting it at triple the speed compared to one coin. However, you will not get a chance to rest and it's more likely that result numbers for different coins will clash. It could also get confusing.
-The higher the Jackpot goes, there will be more people who are also hunting it. Some people already know this Jackpot strategy and will begin hunting it once it reaches a certain point. You need to find a sweet spot between the Jackpot being high enough, and having enough time to hunt it before someone else wins it (beat me if ya can ).
-Dedication is key. Make sure you have a solid block of time to spend on hunting it - if you only have 10 - 15 minutes a day to spend on it, you may find yourself waiting a long time before you win.
-When watching the bet ID ticker, start opening cells roughly 3,000 bets before your matching ID comes. This gives you enough time in case of any lag, but is also close enough that you don't waste too many bets too early.
-If you're determined enough then this can be very profitable. In the last month alone I've won 4 Jackpots, totaling nearly 0.04 BTC!
So there you go. I hope this explains why the Cells Jackpot is so great, and how to hunt it effectively. If you ever win a Cells Jackpot and this post helped you, please let me know!
Best of luck with your future Jackpot endeavors, and let's give Cells the popularity it deserves!
